Welcome to Abbey Yacht Surveys

Abbey Yacht Surveys is part of Abbey Yachts, established in 1978 by Tony Staton-Bevan and is based near Lymington on the South Coast of England.

The business has prospered during its 34 years, by providing a professional, yet personal service and has built up a faithful client base. In fact the majority of surveys are now carried out for past clients, or those who have received personal recommendations.
From the outset, there has never been an attempt to gain extra business by pretending to be a "Jack of all Trades", but has concentrated on Fibre Reinforced Plastic, from the common Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) production Yachts, to high-tech composite construction.

Long standing clients have become friends and many for whom surveys were completed on small coastal cruisers, have now progressed to ocean going sailing and motor yachts, with frequent requests for surveys throughout Europe and around the world. Today, it is common to be asked to travel to the USA, Caribbean, the Gulf states and the Far East.

The variety of surveys still includes the smallest to the largest yachts, both power and sail. A small selection of those surveyed are shown in the photographs on these pages.
